World Trade Center Amsterdam
The redevelopment of the existing World Trade Center Amsterdam was the kick-off of shaping the main Amsterdam business Quartier ‘the Zuidas’ in the southern part of Amsterdam. The WTC got a major high rise extension, a tower of over 100 meters high, with 40.000 m2 office space, a parking garage, a huge bicycle parking garage, retail & restaurants (Wagamama). Petra van Veelen was part of the development team for this extension.
With the new building a central square ‘het Zuidplein’ was created to connect the WTC buildings with the train station.
Trimp & van Tartwijk Property Performance developed the new WTC with the London based architect Kohn Pederson Fox designed the new World Trade Center in cooperation with the Amsterdam based ‘Van den Oever Zaaijer, Roodbeen & Partners’. A top quality building with at that time the latest high end installations and materials now marks the Zuidas. The World Trade Center is owned by CBRE Dutch Office Fund.
